Position Summary
Provides a variety of paying and receiving functions for customers in person, via phone, and through mail, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances. Balances each day's transactions and verifies cash totals. Performs a broad variety of customer services and assisting customers with bookkeeping and checking account problems. Answers customers’ questions regarding bank services and provides and performs a variety of account maintenance duties. Actively cross sells Bank products and services. Performs specifically assigned side jobs including various clerical and receptionist functions, and assists other staff with duties as required. Serves customers promptly and professionally. Trains to support loan operations functions, including, but not
limited to closing loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of banking
operations functions;Represents the Bank in a courteous and professional manner;
Performs routine customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan
payments, transfers, check cashing, cashier’s checks, Visa gift cards, reloadable travel cards,
and issues debit cards;Opens and closes accounts, including: checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, and safe deposit boxes;
Balances ATM, cash advance, and cash items;
Sorts, mails, and maintains returned mail;
Performs new account customer callbacks;
Completes fraud disputes on debit cards as needed;
Provides customers with the forms necessary to transact business with the Bank;
Provides customers with the proper receipts;
Verifies transactions. Monitors deposit amounts and examines documents for endorsement and
negotiability. Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly;Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals. Investigates and resolves out-of-balance
conditions;Presents and explains Bank services and products to customers and assists in meeting their
financial needs;Answers questions and solves problems for customers by listening to problems, collecting data,
securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolves customer bookkeeping
and checking account problems. Takes stop payment requests;Receives and directs customers and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions if
possible or directs them as necessary;Assists with coin machine duties;
Completes required CTRs;
Travels to other branch locations as needed;
Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed;
Keeps customers informed of Bank services and policies, including types of available accounts
and other related services;Maintains and projects the Bank’s professional reputation;
Maintains privacy of customer account information;
Assists other staff members as required;
Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns;
Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly;
Attends meetings as required;
Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained;
May assist with or perform training of new Universal Bankers;
Follows safety and security rules and regulations;
Participates in continuing education as approved/recommended by supervisor, including online
training classes;Maintains a professional and courteous attitude with all people including fellow employees,
customers, management, board members, and outside vendors;Provides loan operations functions, including, but not limited to closing loans;
Protects and respects Bank equipment and supplies;
Helps to maintain bank building’s condition and appearance;
Adheres to Bank’s dress code;
Adheres to and upholds all written policies and procedures of the Bank, including BSA/CIP and
OFAC monitoring and reporting, security, operation, and personnel policies;Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge
Basic understanding and knowledge of banking operations, principles, and practices in
banking;Working knowledge of web-based technology;
Knowledge of all system applications necessary to this position;
Knowledge of and compliance with all necessary regulations including, but not limited to: BSA,
CIP, US Patriot Act, FACTA, Reg CC, etc.;Knowledge of banking procedures as they relate to money management and money
movement.
